The Sou Leelaben Kotak Primary and K.J. Somaiya Secondary School is a government-recognised Marathi medium school for grades 1 to 10 established by the Girivanvasi Educational Trust. The school campus offers residential facilities for the tribal school children who stay in remote areas, as well as a shelter home for students in need of care and protection. Students are provided with free education, lodging and boarding and the school accommodates more than 600 students. Since the children come from agricultural families or the local Warli tribe, the school focuses on teaching agriculture to its students to preserve their roots. The school follows the Maharashtra State Board curriculum.
