Sanskriti Samvardhan Mandal Sardar Girls Hostel

A 10.6 kWp system was installed on the terrace of the Sardar Hostel for Girls. A total of 28 solar panels are installed and this system will generate 14,840 units of electricity. This system will save the institution Rs. 1,78,000 from their electricity bills and also result in environmental benefits by saving 12.20 MTCO2e of carbon emissions each year.

About the School

Sanskriti Samvardhan Mandal (SSM) has been active in integrated rural development since 1959. The focus of its activities has always been on the deprived rural communities, especially women and girls.

SSM runs Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji High school and Junior college, with residential hostel for students on their campus. Their ‘Sardar Hostel for girls’ was est. with an aim to support the deprived rural girls studying in the class from 5th to 12th Std.  Presently, there are 90+ girls.  Most of the girls belong to agrarian families from surrounding villages.
