SWITCH ON SOLAR

PROMOTING RENEWABLE ENERGY WITH ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION

Centre for Environmental Research and Education’s Switch on Solar (SoS) project aims to help charitable schools, hospitals and institutions to transition to renewable energy through the installation of roof-top solar panels. Installing solar panels on the rooftops of these buildings helps the organisation gain huge financial benefits by reducing their electricity bill charges every year. These savings can be reinvested in projects supported by the organisation or infrastructure improvements. In addition to the financial benefits, solar energy has multiple environmental and social benefits, the far-reaching one being the reduction in carbon emissions due to switching over from fossil fuel-based electricity generation. Several other benefits include reduced land and water use and multiple health benefits to the community due to reduced air pollution.
