SSM Chhatrapati Shivaji High School and Jr. College
A total of 23.45 kWp solar PV system, consisting of 70 panels, has been installed at the SSM Chhatrapati Shivaji High School and Jr. College. The system is expected to generate 32,830 units of electricity in the first year. As a result, the school is estimated to save Rs. 2.6 during the same period, which will offset 26.66 metric tons of CO2 equivalent emissions.
About the School
The Sanskriti Samvardhan Mandal (SSM) is a Nanded-based trust formed in 1959 that works for rural development through interventions in areas such as education, agriculture, environmental conservation and women empowerment. SSM runs the Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji High School and Junior College at Sagroli in the Nanded district as part of its vision to have educated, vigilant and prosperous rural communities. The Chhatrapati Shivaji school is residential and affiliated with the Maharashtra State (SSC) board. To ensure that the school is inclusive, SSM has a special unit within its campus to educate physically challenged students, such as those who are deaf and mute. The School and Jr. College educate more than 2,400 students annually.
