A 11.12 kWp solar PV system consisting of 19 panels has been installed on the school’s terrace. The system is expected to generate 15,561 units of electricity in the first year. As a result, the school will save approximately Rs. 1,78,952 on its electricity bill during the same period. Additionally, this will help the school reduce its carbon emissions by 13.9 MTCO2e.
About the Institute
The National Society for Clean Cities India (NSCCI) Children’s Complex was founded in 1972 by Begum Zehra Ali Yavar Jung, wife of the then Governor of Maharashtra, with a vision to provide early education in a clean, nurturing environment for underprivileged children. Moved by the poor living conditions in slum areas and the neglect of cleanliness, Begum Jung believed that real change must begin with educating young minds. Located in Kherwadi, Bandra East, the Children’s Complex offers pre-primary education to more than 300 children annually, along with providing a nutritious mid-day meal, milk, and a green, caring atmosphere essential for child development.
