Lokmanya Tilak Vidyamandir
A cumulative 12.15 kWp, consisting of 27 panels has been installed at the school premises. A 9.45 kW system is ground-mounted for the boys’ hostel, trust office and school building while a 2.7-kW system has been installed on the rooftop of the mess building for the mess and girls’ hostel building. The system is expected to 12,758 units of electricity in the first year. As a result, the school will save approximately Rs. 1,14,979 on their electricity bill during the same period. Additionally, this will help the school reduce its carbon emission by 10.36 MTCO2e.
About the School
The Lokmanya Tilak Vidyamandir, Chikalgaon, is an educational institution drawing from Tilak’s thoughts that education is the only foolproof path to development. Set up in 1982, the Trust runs a day-boarding and residential school for children from in and around Chikhalgaon village. The Loksadhana Trust runs a primary and a secondary school as well as a junior college and a vocational training institute within its Chikalgaon campus. The primary school employs various experimental education techniques like games-based learning models, an open classroom concept, bag-less schooling etc. while the secondary school incorporates vocational training and rural development workshops into its educational framework.
