K.L. Ponda High School

A total of 20.25 kWp solar PV system, consisting of 50 panels, has been installed on the terrace of the K.L. Ponda High School. The system is expected to generate 28,350 units of electricity in the first year. As a result, the school is estimated to save Rs. 2,08,089 on their electricity bill during the same period, which will offset 22.68 metric tons of CO2 equivalent emissions.

About the School

K.L. Ponda High School is a semi-government, aided school affiliated to the Maharashtra State Board for secondary and higher secondary education. The school is run by the Dahanu Education Trust, which was established in 1926. The medium of instruction at K.L. Ponda school is Marathi, and it is located in the rural region in Dahanu block of Palghar district of Maharashtra state. It has attached Primary, Secondary and Higher Secondary Sections (Arts and Commerce, including many vocational courses). It is an esteemed Marathi medium school in the Palghar district and strikes the perfect balance between traditional and modern education. Most students at K.L. Ponda school come from a tribal background. Currently, the school serves over 3,500 students across all grades, from playgroup to standard 12.
